About Me
I was recently told that I’m not a 1:1 widget. I like to think that’s because I have a unique combination of skills - I love big ambitious ideas, but I also know how to get things done and understand how to run a business. I excel at connecting dots. For much of my early career, that’s come through storytelling — producing stories that explain the world and help people understand the seen and unseen forces that shape their lives. In more recent years, I’ve connected dots as a business leader, bringing strategic thinking to organizations as they try and reach larger audiences. I’ve worked across tv and radio, producing programs for NPR, PBS and most recently Marketplace. There I moved from the newsroom to the role of General Manager and grew the shop from a suite of radio programs to a multi-platform enterprise, united around the North Star of raising the economic intelligence of all Americans. I believe smart doesn’t have to mean stuffy; I love new ideas and I’m good at infusing intensity and purpose into an organization. I lead with passion and I’m terrible at faking it. I have been blessed by a career spent doing meaningful things that I care about.

Psst… what’s with the name BikerLass?
I’ve been surprised how many times I’ve shown up for a video meeting and the first comment has been, ‘ah, I wasn’t sure what to expect — half thought you’d be covered in tattoos and clad in leather.’ Sorry to disappoint, but I’m not that kind of biker. BikerLass comes from my long-time indoor cycling avatar. I show up on the bike the way I show up in life: all in, go as hard as I can and always find just that little bit more. Plus I enjoy the energy of the room (ok, and music helps too). That seemed like a good name for a company.
